Why I Still Love What I Do After 37 Years

Let’s be honest.

After 37 years in real estate, I should be tired.

I should be bored.
I should be burned out.
I should be complaining about “how the business used to be.”

I’m not.

I still love it.

And honestly? That surprises some people.

The Business Changed. People Didn’t.

The contracts changed.
The technology changed.
The marketing changed.
The paperwork definitely multiplied.

But people?

People still want the same thing:

To feel confident.
To feel protected.
To feel like someone actually knows what they’re doing.

That part never gets old.

I Love the Challenge

I don’t love easy deals.

Easy deals are fine — but they’re not memorable.

I love the ones that make people nervous.

The ones with moving parts.
The ones with emotion.
The ones where everyone is waiting to see who blinks first. These are deals that remind me why I still love this work.

That’s where the fun is.

I Love the Wins

Not the applause.

The relief.

The moment a seller exhales.
The moment a buyer smiles.
The moment a family says, “We couldn’t have done this without you.”

That never gets old.

I Love the Chaos (A Little)

I won’t pretend I love every phone call.

But I do love knowing that when something goes sideways, I’m the guy people call.

Not because I’m loud.

Because I’m steady. If you’re new here, this is who I am.

And Yes — I Love the People

I love the stories.
I love the personalities.
I love the weird situations.
I love the relationships that last longer than the transaction.

I even love the ones who swear they’ll “never buy again” and then call me two years later.

They always come back.

The Truth

I don’t do this job because it’s easy.

I do it because it still matters.

And as long as people keep trusting me with big decisions…

I’m not going anywhere.

Because after 37 years…

I still love what I do.
